Bringing a new baby into the world is one of life’s most precious moments. Capturing those early days with a professional newborn photoshoot is a beautiful way to preserve the memories forever. If you’re thinking about booking a newborn session in Luton but aren’t quite sure what to expect — this guide is just for you.
📍 Where Does the Session Take Place?
My newborn sessions take place in my cozy, fully equipped photography studio in Luton. The space is designed to be warm, safe, and peaceful — a calming environment for both baby and parents. Everything you need is already here: props, blankets, wraps, headbands and outfits.
📅 When Is the Best Time for a Newborn Session?
The ideal window for a newborn session is between 5 and 20 days after birth. During this time, babies are sleepier, easier to pose, and still have that lovely newborn curl.
That said — if your baby is a bit older, don’t worry! I can still create beautiful, meaningful images. Every baby is different, and I tailor each session to your little one’s pace and comfort.
👶 What Happens During the Session?
Each newborn session is baby-led, meaning we take breaks whenever your little one needs to feed, cuddle, or settle. There’s no rush — the experience is relaxed and gentle.
Here’s a general outline of what you can expect:
Arrival & warm-up time – We take a few minutes to settle in, chat, and let your baby adjust to the new space.
Parent & sibling portraits – If you’d like family images (highly recommended!), we’ll include those too.
Variety of setups – I’ll use different props, textures, and colours to create a soft and timeless gallery.
🎒 What Should You Bring?
The good news? You don’t need to bring much! I provide all props, wraps, and accessories.
However, you may want to pack:
Extra nappies & wipes
A dummy/pacifier (even if your baby doesn’t usually take one — it can help soothe during posing)
A snack or drink for yourself — my sessions usually last around 2–3 hours
A neutral-coloured top if you’d like to be in the photos too
📷 How and When Do You Get the Photos?
Turnaround time for the fully edited pictures is usually around 2 weeks for final images.
💬 Final Thoughts
A newborn photoshoot is more than just pictures — it’s a calm, meaningful experience that captures a once-in-a-lifetime stage of your family’s story. My goal is to create timeless images you’ll treasure forever, while making sure you and your baby feel comfortable, relaxed, and cared for every step of the way.
